President Joe Biden's approval rating hit yet another new low on Friday, with the release of a Gallup poll showing him at 38% overall approval.

The president's score among Americans fell below 40% for the first time ever in that poll, which was taken July 5-26. Overall, 59% of Americans disapproved of his performance with 45% strongly disapproving. Only 13% of respondents strongly approved of Biden's job performance.

Moreover, the poll revealed that Biden had the lowest average approval this far into office of any president since Eisenhower. Sitting at a 40% average approval rating across the first six quarters of his presidency, Biden scored lower than the next bottom two presidents, Donald Trump and Jimmy Carter. The 39th and 45th president both scored an average 42% approval rating after the same time in office.

In more bad news for Biden, the poll reveal he maintained a 78% approval rating in his own party, the lowest support from Democrats at any point yet in his presidency. Independents meanwhile only gave him 31% support.

Republicans, meanwhile, appear to dislike Biden more than any opposition party has ever opposed a sitting president in this poll. 87% of Republicans strongly disapproved of Biden, leading the pollster to comment that it has "never found a higher percentage... of a party group strongly disapproving of a president."

As of Friday, Biden maintained an average approval rating of 38.1% in the RealClearPolitics polling average, which includes the Gallup poll. His disapproval stood at 56.5%.
