As voters head to the polls on Tuesday, President Joe Biden is nowhere to be seen, with his official schedule nearly blank and no known plans for a public appearance or comment on the races.

Republicans are poised to make significant gains in the House of Representatives while the Senate remains a toss-up. Nevertheless the Democratic president appears ill inclined to use his public profile to bolster turnout on the big day.

The White House website shows Biden's public schedule, which includes the 9:30 a.m. receipt of his daily briefing and a 12:00 p.m. "In-Town Pool Call Time."

The president's party traditionally loses seats in both chambers during their first midterms and a Republican Congress could dramatically alter the course of the Biden administration.
