Biden at COVID-19 victims memorial: 'To heal we must remember'

"It's hard sometimes to remember. But that's how we heal. It's important to do that as a nation."

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris both spoke briefly on Tuesday at a memorial for coronavirus victims held at the Lincoln Memorial in the nation's capital.

"To heal we must remember," Biden said at the memorial the day before he is slated to be sworn in as the next president of the United States. "It's hard sometimes to remember. But that's how we heal. It's important to do that as a nation."

There have been more than 400,000 COVID-19 deaths so far in the U.S., according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
