The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its COVID safety guidance for summer camps, urging children and staff to continue to wear masks and social distance.

The update was issued over the weekend and urged children and adults to continue to wear masks even if they are immunized and urged children to social distance at 3 feet apart and 6 feet apart for adults.

The guidance also states everyone in camp facilities should wear masks at all times, with exceptions including eating and drinking or swimming," according to The New York Times.

The new guidelines apply to day camps and sleepaway camps, with the latter having extra requirements such as vaccination of adult employees and a two-week pre-arrival quarantine.

The guidelines also urge modifications like staying outside as much as possible and bringing as much fresh air as possible into indoor spaces.
