Newsom closes California bars, indoor restaurant dining amid spike in coronavirus cases

The number of coronavirus cases is increasing across the South and Southwest, while the death rate flattens, drops

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday ordered the closing of bars and indoor dining amid a spike of coronavirus cases in the state.

The Democratic governor's order also includes the closure of breweries, card rooms, movie theaters, museums, wineries and zoos.

California now has roughly 328,000 confirmed cases.
