In daylong visit to critical Pennsylvania, Trump tells workers 'no one has fought harder' for them

President Trump arrived Monday in Pennsylvania for three campaign stops — knowing that winning the swing state is critical to his reelection bid and telling voters at his first event that Democratic rival Joe Biden's economic plan is a "death sentence."

At the second stop of the day, at the Lancaster Airport in Lititz, Pa., the president told the crowd that "no one has fought harder" for the American worker than he has, and that he "will continue to fight."

Trump's first arrived in Allentown, and has continued traversing the state with stops in Lititz, and later, Martinsburg in search of the state's crucial 20 Electoral College votes.

"Biden's plan is an economic death sentence for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," he told the outdoor crowd on a cool fall morning, just eight days before Election Day. "He will eradicate your energy and send Pennsylvania into a crippling depression."

Trump, who's trailing Biden, won Pennsylvania by just over 44,000 votes, or 0.72% of the ballots case in the state. It was the narrowest margin of victory for a presidential candidate in the state in more than 175 years.

The president is on a mission to convince the people of Pennsylvania that Joe Biden and his administration will be enemies of fracking, working to cripple the state's natural gas industry, while he will continue supporting Pennsylvania workers and the industry that plays a significant role in the state's economy.

The Real Clear Politics average of national polls shows Biden leading by 7.9 percentage points. The RCP average for Pennsylvania is 4.9 percentage points. 

Biden has no campaign events on his schedule Monday but is expected to visit Georgia on Tuesday.

Joe Biden's running mate, California Senator Kamala Harris, has no events on her schedule for Monday. She is expected to be in Washington, D.C. for the Senate vote on Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett. 

Vice President Mike Pence, meanwhile, will travel Monday to Minnesota — a state Trump narrowly lost in 2016 — for a campaign rally in Hibbing.
