Georgia GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker raised $3.3 million on the first day of his runoff election campaign against incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock, Fox News reports.

The Georgia Senate race is currently too close to officially call, with Sen. Warnock slightly leading with 49.4% of the vote and former football star Herschel Walker with 48.5% of the vote.

However, the Georgia Secretary of State's office said on Wednesday that the election was headed to a runoff since no candidate received over 50% of the vote. The Libertarian candidate garnered enough votes to keep both Walker and Warnock from reaching 50%.

As of now, the Georgia runoff election will take place Dec. 6.

Both Democrats and Republicans are going to be putting their time and money into this race, as control of the Senate may very well depend on which man wins the runoff.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee put out a press release in which they announced they would be spending $7 million on the upcoming runoff to support Sen. Warnock.

"We know talking directly to voters through a strong, well-funded ground-game is critical to winning in Georgia, and we're wasting no time in kick-starting these programs in the runoff," said Sen. Gary Peters, DSCC Chair.

Sen. Rick Scott, head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, sent out a memo urging supporters to back Herschel Walker and keep the Senate, according to The Hill.
