Former Trump press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the projected winner Tuesday night of Alabama's GOP gubernatorial  primary.

She is seeking the governor seat of retiring GOP Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Former President Trump encourage Huckabee Sander to run for the seat and was among her first backers in the race.
