Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to campaign for Democrat Terry McAuliffe ahead of Virginia’s Nov. 2 gubernatorial election.
According to The Hill, Harris is expected to campaign alongside the gubernatorial candidate at an event in Prince William County on Thursday.
High-profile Democrat politicians and surrogates have been turning out to campaign for Terry McAuliffe in light of recent polling showing the former Virginia governor in a dead heat with Republican Glenn Youngkin.
First Lady Jill Biden appeared on Friday at a campaign rally in Richmond in an attempt to mobilize voters, while on Sunday former Georgian gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams campaign alongside McAuliffe in Norfolk.
The Vice President’s campaign appearance comes amid recent criticism from McAuliffe that Democrats in D.C. are not doing enough to pass Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Despite the recent lineup of high-profile Democratic surrogates, the Cook Political Report has classified the race as a “toss-up” with only a few weeks left until Election Day.
