Las Vegas businessman charged with voting twice in November 2020 election

A prominent Las Vegas businessman is facing potential prison time for allegedly voting twice during the 2020 presidential election.

According to the Associated Press, Donald “Kirk” Hartle is facing two felony counts of casting fraudulent votes, one of which was under his deceased wife's name.

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced the charges Thursday, following Hartle's initial court hearing. 

"I want to stress that our office will pursue any credible allegations of voter fraud and will work to bring any offenders to justice," Ford said during a press conference.

So far Hartle is currently the only person facing voter fraud charges in Nevada, despite the swing-state receiving multiple lawsuits for alleged election fraud following the 2020 election.

"Mr. Hartle looks forward to responding to the allegations," said defense attorney David Chesnoff.

President Joe Biden won the silver state back in 2020 by 2.4%, defeating Donald Trump by over 33,000 votes.

If convicted Hartle could face up to eight years in prison, as well as substantial fines.
