Lewandowski considers running for New Hampshire governor against Ayotte
“Governor is the only job in Politics I would ever consider giving up what I am currently doing for,” Corey Lewandowski said
Corey Lewandowski considers running for New Hampshire governor against GOP Gov. Kelly Ayotte as she has resisted the Trump administration's push for redistricting.
Lewandowski, who worked on President Trump’s 2016 and 2024 campaigns, is currently serving as a Department of Homeland Security senior adviser, and expressed interest when asked about a potential gubernatorial bid, POLITICO reported Thursday.
“Governor is the only job in Politics I would ever consider giving up what I am currently doing for,” Lewandowski, who has a residence in Windham, N.H., told the news outlet on Wednesday. He did not say whether he had discussed the potential bid with the White House.
The Trump administration is reportedly considering a primary challenger to Ayotte, a first-term governor who has not followed other Republicans elsewhere in redrawing her state's congressional district maps to assist with the GOP's House majority in next year's elections.
Ayotee has said that the “timing is off” for redistricting and that pressure from the White House wouldn’t change her mind.
This comes amid rumors Lewandowski leaving DHS.
Lewandowski responded to the rumors, posting on X on Wednesday, "I thought it only fitting today to share the words of the famous Mark Twain … 'The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.' Lots of Fake News out there… don’t believe the MSM."
