Biden's 85-vehicle G20 motorcade gives conservatives fodder to claim climate hypocrisy

Conservative Lisa Boothe also notes how John Kerry, special presidential envoy for climate, "exclusively flies private."
US President Joe Biden prepares to get into his car as he leaves the Chigi palace in Rome on October 29, 2021, following a meeting with the Italian prime minister, ahead of an upcoming G20 summit of world leaders to discuss climate change, covid-19 and the post-pandemic global recovery.

Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe called climate change a "limousine liberal issue" after President Joe Biden assembled an 85-vehicle motorcade to Rome during the G20 summit.

"The issue of climate change is a limousine liberal issue," Boothe said on Fox News' "The Big Saturday Show". "The Republican Party has turned into the party for the American worker, and Democrats are the party for coastal elites. This issue alone underscores that point."

Boothe also noted how Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) illegally "parked her $59,000 Tesla ... outside of a Whole Foods," and Biden appointed John Kerry as special presidential envoy for climate, even though he "exclusively flies private."

"If Democrats actually cared about emissions, they would look toward things like natural gas, nuclear power as well," she added. "But they don't care about these issues. They don't care about emissions. All they care about is virtue-signaling to their other limousine liberal friends."

The term "limousine liberal" was coined by Democrat Mario Procaccino in his 1969 New York City mayoral campaign that ended in a loss, Fox News reported. Tom Wolfe, an author and journalist, may have popularized the insult in "Radical Chic: That Party at Lenny's," an essay he wrote in 1970.
