Thomas Donohue, the CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be leaving his post and is expected to be replaced by Suzanne Clark, the current president of the chamber, according to multiple reports on Friday.

The Chamber of Commerce is one of the nation’s most powerful lobbying groups. A formal announcement is expected next week.

Donohue served as both CEO and president from 1997 to 2019, when Clark took over as president.

“The Board is engaged in a rigorous multiyear succession process to name a new CEO. When a final decision has been reached, there will be an announcement,” a spokesperson told The Hill.
