Meadows says Trump, other top GOP figures working on agenda similar to the 'Contract for America'

"I've been talking to Speaker Newt Gingrich, Lindsey Grahm, the president. We actually met together to talk about a path moving forward that's focused on policy that everybody can come together on," Meadows said.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows during an interview on Just the News AM with host Sophie Mann said that prominent Republican figures, including former President Trump, are speaking about developing a policy platform somewhat like the GOP-backed "Contract with America" more than two decades ago.

"I've been talking to Speaker Newt Gingrich, Lindsey Grahm, the president. We actually met together to talk about a path moving forward that's focused on policy that everybody can come together on. You may remember back in the 1990's there was a Contract for America," Meadows noted. "Most people don't remember what those 10 points were, but what we're doing is looking at something like that. We won't call it a contract," Meadows said, remarking that "we'll be working on an America first agenda that actually sets the narrative for honest debate leading into 2022."

Prior to serving as White House chief of staff during a portion of the Trump administration, Meadows spent years serving as a U.S. Congressman from the state of North Carolina.
