President Joe Biden's approval rating dipped to 38%, nearing the lowest point of 36% last July, as Americans continue to face economic concerns, according to a poll released Thursday.

Biden's approval had been above 40% for the past several months, but this month it dropped 7 points from February, when approval stood at 45%, according to the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll

Biden's approval of 38% is largely due to support from Democrats, 76% of whom approve of his job as president.

Just 31% of adults also said they approve of Biden's handling of the economy, a number that has remained stable over the past year.

Theresa Ojuro, a 29-year-old doctoral student in New York who voted for Biden in 2020, told the wire service that she "expected more" and wanted "just a little bit more stability with the economy."

"If Biden is doing his job, why in a state like this can you see people really suffering?" she asked.

The poll was conducted with 1,081 adults from March 16-20, and it has a 4% margin of error.
