Voters split on how abortion should be regulated throughout the U.S.

U.S. voters are split on the issue of abortion laws on the state and federal level, a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen shows. 

When asked of their preferred policy regarding abortion, 35% of the voters said they would favor a national paradigm "with only minimal restrictions."

Thirty-three percent said they would prefer a national law with abortion legal only in extreme circumstances such as rape and incest. 

Twenty percent of the voters said they would like to see each state allowed to "establish appropriate rules and guidelines such as waiting periods, parental notification, and how late in a pregnancy abortions can be allowed."
