You Vote: Do you trust mainstream political polling?

Prominent pollster says many polls not reaching enough Republicans.

Trafalgar Group chief pollster Robert Cahaly said Wednesday that many Republicans aren't being reached by pollsters.

"I think there's a certain segment of the Republican electorate that's just not getting polled," Cahaly told the "Just the News, No Noise" television show. "There's an important chunk of people that are what I call submerged voters that you cannot get on the phone and you cannot reach them any other way."

However, Cahaly added that mainstream polling numbers are starting to come closer to Trafalgar's, leading some elected officials to deny their accuracy.

"We watch in every single state, and we see their mainstream polls start getting closer and closer to ours," he said. "I mean, when the mainstream polls are getting so close to ours that Nancy Pelosi is disavowing the mainstream polls, you got to start thinking they're actually getting to the truth."
