Lara Trump, daughter-in-law to the president and advisor on President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, says women needn't feel reluctant to show support for the president.

"So our message is, it's okay to support President Donald Trump, the second you start talking about your support. And interesting thing happens. I think women all across this country, and men alike feel this way," she told David Brody, host of The Pod's Honest Truth.

Click here to subscribe to The Pod's Honest Truth

"You go out to dinner with people that maybe you haven't, you know, known very long. And the second one person breaks the ice and says something positive about Donald Trump, then everybody joins us all," said Trump.

While the president's handling of the crisis has seen a spike in his approval ratings, polls have consistently shown that Trump enjoys greater support among men than women. In 2018, exit polls showed that women were one of the driving forces that helped propel Democrats to victory in the House, raising fears in the GOP that a similar gender gap could play out inthe November presidential election.

Image

Lara Trump talks with "The Pod's Honest Truth" host David Brody.

JTN

Trump, wife of the president's sonEric, has been touring the country as a top advisor an attempt to appeal directly to femalevoters.

"But we have a bright pink bus with women for Trump on the side.
