Before and after: Satellite images show coronavirus impact around the globe

Planet Earth is looking pretty deserted these days.
Satellite images from Maxar Technologies show now empty parking lots, beaches, bridges, waterways, and popular tourist sites once filled with people.
With death counts rising, economies spiraling downward and half the global population under orders to stay at home, the world has been reeling from the coronavirus pandemic.
President Donald Trump unveiled broad new federal guidelines Thursday that lay out conditions for parts of the U.S. to start relaxing some of the strict social distancing measures imposed to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The International Monetary Fund recently announced the "Great Lockdown" recession will drag global GDP lower by 3 percent in 2020.
