Dem. Rep. says U.S. must ‘take responsibility’ for slavery's origin in British colonies 1619-1776

Illinois Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky said on Friday that public schools should teach the “1619 Project,” despite the 1776 founding of the United States, which took place after the start of slavery in the British colonies.
