Gov. Andrew Cuomo says N.Y. has 1 percent of global deaths

Gov. Cuomo announced Monday said that more than 20,000 New Yorkers have been infected by the coronavirus, making that state's population the most afflicted with the virus, and accounting for 5 percent of all cases worldwide.
“You can see that New York, far and away, has the bulk of the problem,” Cuomo said.
New York, which has the most cases of the virus in the U.S., is among several states to have shut down all nonessential businesses. Cuomo said that New York has also tested more of its resident than any other state.
"In 10 days, we've gone from testing 1000 people per day to testing 16,000 per day. Well, how much is that? That's more than any other state in the United States.
