Secretary of State Antony Blinken during an interview on CNN's State of the Union said that the U.S. and China have "increasingly adversarial aspects" to their relationship.

He noted that there are competitive aspects to the countries' relationship, and cooperative aspects.

"But the common denominator is the need to approach China from a position of strength, whether it's adversarial, whether it's competitive, whether it's cooperative," Blinken said.
