A large fire at an Ukraine nuclear power station – the largest such facility in Europe – was extinguished late Thursday. The blaze was reportedly the result of Russia's invasion of the neighboring country.
Officials have told Reuters the plant, in southeastern Ukraine, is operating normally after it was seized by Russian forces in fighting. The fire sparked international concern overnight of a possible nuclear catastrophe.
The International Atomic Energy Agency says a Russian "projectile" hit the Zaporizhzhia plant's training center, which is not part of its nuclear reactor. No changes in radiation levels have been recorded so far after the attack, according to the Associated Press.
