An Israeli official this week teased an offer to allow safe passage for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar out of Gaza, if the terrorist organization releases all of its remaining hostages.

Israel’s Coordinator for Hostages and the Missing Gal Hirsch said Sinwar, who is considered the architect of the October 7 attack on Israel, has been offered safe passage for him and whoever he wants at least a day and a half ago, but did not indicate how the leader responded.

Sinwar is believed to be hidden in tunnels underneath Gaza, and possibly concealed by hostages, according to CNN. He is also believed to be moved frequently in order to avoid detection.

“I’m ready to provide safe passage to Sinwar, his family, whoever wants to join him,” Hirsch told Bloomberg on Tuesday. “We want the hostages back. We want demilitarization, de-radicalization of course — a new system that will manage Gaza.”

Sinwar was announced as the head of Hamas's political bureau last month, and is considered one of the organization's most powerful figures. He is believed to be responsible for the deaths of 1,200 people during Hamas's initial attack on Israel last year.

There are currently 101 hostages still remaining with Hamas. Israel recovered the bodies of six hostages last month.
