At least two people died while 15 more were wounded on Thursday during an attack on a main street of Tel Aviv, Israel, Sky News reported, following an increase in terrorist attacks which resulted in 11 Israelis dead in less than two weeks.

Israeli police called the suspect a terrorist on Twitter. The attack occurred on Thursday evening on Dizengoff Street at a pub.

Police are in the area searching for the suspect, who is still at large according to law enforcement. The area is still considered "active" and authorities have asked the public to remain indoors.

According to Shebab News Agency, a Palestinian outlet, a suspect is hiding in a building with law enforcement surrounding it.

The attack comes after a series of three terrorist attacks left 11 Israelis dead over the past few weeks.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in a translated statement that the night was "very difficult," and he offered his condolences to those who were killed.

He promised that Israel would get to the terrorist and "anyone who helped him indirectly or directly will pay a price."

Shebab reports that the attack was celebrated throughout the West Bank and Gaza.
