Former President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that Jewish supporters of President Joe Biden should feel "ashamed" to have done so in light of his handling of the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

"What Biden is doing with respect to Israel is disgraceful," Trump said outside a New York courthouse amid his ongoing criminal trial. "If any Jewish person voted for Joe Biden, they should be ashamed of themselves. He's totally abandoned Israel."

"I guess he feels good about it because he did it as a political decision. You have to do the right decision not the political decision," he continued.

Trump made the remarks amid warnings from Biden that he would halt weapons shipments to Israel should Jerusalem pursue a strike on Rafah, a critical border crossing into the Gaza Strip to which many refugees have fled amid the Israeli invasion. Israel seized the border crossing on the edge of the city earlier this week.

"I made it clear that if they go into Rafah – they haven’t gone in Rafah yet – if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem," Biden said this week.

He faced scrutiny earlier that week over his reportedly hold on an ammunition shipment to the country over Israel's alleged blocking of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
