The Associated Press has fired a news associate after pro-Palestinian social media posts she made while in college went viral.

Emily Wilder, who is Jewish and graduated last year from Stanford University, was fired Thursday after a group of Republicans students at the school made a Twitter post about her online comments and called her an "anti-Israel agitator."

One Wilder post criticized Birthright, a travel program encouraging Jewish students to visit  Israel. She called the program "nothing more than ethnic nationalist propaganda" and accused Israel of engaging in "the ethnic cleansing and displacement of Palestinians in Palestine," according to Fox News.

In another post, she called late Jewish donor Sheldon Adelson a "naked mole rat-looking billionaire."

The wire service confirmed to Fox News that Wilder was let go, saying her posts had violated its social media policy.

"There's no question I was just canceled," Wilder told SFGATE on Thursday.
