Putin open to negotiated ceasefire to end Ukraine war on certain terms: Report

Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly open to a negotiated ceasefire that recognizes the "current battlefield lines," according to a Reuters report published on Friday that cites Russian sources.

The current frontlines would be recognized as Russian territory under such an agreement.

Reuters reported that three sources close to Putin's inner circle said he is frustrated by Zelenskyy and the West's decision to rule out direct peace talks with Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeated that he would not agree to Putin's terms to end the war.

Reuters reported in February that Putin offered a ceasefire but the U.S. rejected it. The Kremlin later denied that such an offer was made.
