GOP Sen. Mike Lee's Twitter account suspended

It is unclear why Lee's account was suspended.

Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee on Wednesday said he had his personal Twitter account suspended, less than a month after Twitter temporarily suspended the account of Montana GOP Sen. Steve Daines.

"My personal Twitter account – @BasedMikeLee – has been suspended. Twitter did not alert me ahead of time, nor have they yet offered an explanation for the suspension. My team and I are seeking answers," Lee tweeted from his official Senate account along with a photo of his suspended account.

The @BasedMikeLee account does not display any photos or tweets, but simply displays the user name followed by "Account suspended
Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules."

It is unclear why Lee's account was suspended. His suspension comes less than a month after Daines had his account temporarily suspended for allegedly violating Twitter's sensitive media policy by posting a photo of himself hunting.
