McCarthy condemns Trump's meeting with Nick Fuentes
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday disapproved of former President Trump's meeting with Nick Fuentes, a far-right political activist.
"I don't think anybody should be spending anytime with Nick Fuentes," McCarthy said outside of the White House. "He has no place in this Republican Party. I think President Trump came out four times and condemned him and didn't know who he was."
Trump recently had dinner with rapper Ye and Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago. Trump said he didn't invite Fuentes to his Florida estate and was unaware of who he was prior to the meeting.
McCarthy also told reporters that he condemns Fuentes' white nationalist ideology.
He follows other top Republicans who have denounced the meeting including Trump White House Vice President Mike Pence.
The former vice president also made clear in his comment Monday that he does not think Trump is a antisemite, bigot or racist but called on him to apologize for the dinner meeting.
