Gun supervisor on 'Rust' set gets 18 month in connection with fatal shooting involving Alec Baldwin

A women in charge of the weapons props on the set of the movie "Rust," in which a cinematographer was fatally shot by actor Alec Baldwin was sentenced Monday to 18 months in prison for the incident.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, a so-called movie "armorer," was sentenced in a New Mexico state court.

She was convicted in March by a jury on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, according to the Associated Press. 

She has been held for over a month at a county jail on the outskirts of Santa Fe.

Baldwin, also the co-producer of the Western, ” was pointing a gun at Hutchins when fired a live bullet into Hutchins, killing her and wounding director Joel Souza.

Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death. He is scheduled for trial in July, the wire service also reports.
