The chairmen of the GOP-led House Judiciary and Oversight committees are asking the director of the Office of National Intelligence to provide information on whether Joe Biden as vice president received so-called "defensive briefings" about his family's profitable overseas business dealings.

The request was made to Director Avril Haines by respective committee Chairmen Reps. Jim Jordan, Ohio, and James Comer, Kentucky.

They are investigating whether sufficient grounds exist to draft articles for impeachment against President Biden.

"As part of the impeachment inquiry, we seek to understand if as vice president or as a candidate for the presidency Joe Biden received so-called 'defensive briefings' regarding his son's foreign business dealings."

The letter also states: "The Biden family, including (Biden's son) Hunter Biden, received millions of dollars from foreign companies and nationals while Joe Biden was vice president."
