Experts agree president strong on Ukraine but wasn't compelling, failed to lay out concrete solutions
Joe Biden, State of the Union, March 1, 2022

President Biden delivered his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

Biden focused the beginning of his speech on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, finding common ground among both Republican and Democratic lawmakers in supporting Ukraine.

After that, Biden turned to his domestic legislative agenda, which has been stalled for months now and contributed to his low approval ratings.

Following Biden's speech, communications experts who served in government said he was effective in expressing America's support for Ukraine but failed to unite the American people beyond that. Many argued he wasn't concrete, actionable, or compelling in terms of finding solutions to the problems most concerning the American people — such as inflation.
