Los Angeles Rams score late to beat Cincinnati Bengals, win Super Bowl LVI

The Los Angeles Rams gave their hometown crowd a Hollywood ending Sunday in Super Bowl LVI.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford guided a late game drive, connecting with Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp to help the Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in a game dominated by defensive superstar Aaron Donald.

Donald made two game-saving plays at the end, forcing an errant throw by Bengals quarterback Joe Burrows on fourth and one with less than 40 seconds left.

The Rams defense applied relentless pressure throughout the game, recording seven quarterback sacks.

The win came on the Rams' home turf at SoFi Stadium.

This marks the Rams' first Super Bowl victory since 2000. Their most recent prior Super Bowl appearance came in 2019 when the Rams lost to the New England Patriots.

The game marked the Bengals' first Super Bowl appearance in more than three decades. Cincinnati has never won a Super Bowl.

The Bengals lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the championship game in 1982 and 1989.
