Clinton capitalizes on Trump raid by selling 'But Her Emails' merchandise
Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is capitalizing on the FBI's raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate by selling "But Her Emails" merchandise to benefit her Onward Together PAC.
She posted Tuesday morning that the proceeds will help her group "defend democracy" and promote her values.
"Every 'But her emails' hat or shirt sold helps [Onward Together] partners defend democracy, build a progressive bench, and fight for our values. Just saying!" she tweeted.
Two hours later, Clinton said she sold out of hats, but more are available for preorder.
"Crisis averted," she said about the hats being available again.
In his statement about the FBI raid, Trump referenced the former secretary of state's emails.
"Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 E-mails AFTER they subpoenaed by Congress," he wrote. "Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. She even took antique furniture, and other items from the White House."
He frequently took aim at Clinton during the 2016 campaign with the popular rally phrase, "Lock her up."
Clinton was not ultimately prosecuted for her emails when then-FBI Director James Comey refused to refer the investigation to the Department of Justice.
