State Black Lives Matter co-founder endorses Trump: 'Democratic Party is not for us'
Mark Fisher, the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, touting Trump's support of the black community and accusing Democrats of supporting racist policies.
"It's the duplicity of the Democrats, the hypocrisy," Fisher told Fox News' "FOX & Friends" on Tuesday. "We're not stupid. The brothers are not stupid. We understand when someone's for us and when someone is not, and it's obvious that the Democratic Party is not for us."
Fisher heavily criticized the Democratic Party earlier this month on "The Kim Iversen Show," saying that it "hurt our community." He cited Democratic positions on abortion, faith and capitalism as harming the black community.
"We've been used and abused for so long by that party, they don't value our vote," Fisher also said. "Their policies are basically racist policies. I believe it's a racist party. Donald Trump is just the opposite. He's going to tell you how it is. He's going to give it to you straight."
He lauded Trump's achievements with the black community.
"Trump has done more for the black community than any president I can think of in my lifetime, and Biden has done nothing," Fisher said, adding how the former president gave hundreds of millions of dollars to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and he supported the First Step Act to fight recidivism and get black people involved in the economy again.
Fisher also said how "the best" rappers "all support" Trump, such as Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, Ice Cube and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
