Kanye West asked Trump to be his 2024 running mate
Trump announced his own 2024 campaign earlier in November.
Kanye West revealed on Thursday that he had asked former President Donald Trump to be his running mate for a 2024 presidential campaign.
"I think the thing that Trump was most perturbed about, me asking him to be my vice president," the rapper said in a video he posted to Twitter. "I think that was like lower on the list of things that caught him off-guard."
West recently met with Trump at the 45th president's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida during which the pair discussed the musician's proposed "Ye 24" campaign, The Hill reported.
West also ran for president in 2020, but failed to carry any state and was not on the ballot in many of them. He asserted that Trump was cold on the prospect of another presidential bid and declared that the musician would fail.
"When Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was going to lose — I mean has that ever worked for anyone in history," Ye said in the video. "I’m like hold on, hold on, hold on, Trump, you’re talking to Ye."
