The monkeypox virus is now present in all 50 states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed on Monday.

The CDC added that, as of Monday afternoon, 15,433 cases had been confirmed throughout the country.

The virus usually manifests as a mild cold or flu-like symptoms along with a rash.
