Boeing CEO to step down, amid aviation manufacturer's safety problems
Recent problems for Boeing began in January after a door panel became detached mid-flight from an Alaska Airlines commercial jet
Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun and two other top company executives are stepping down, the aviation manufacturing company announced Monday.
Their resignation comes amid ongoing problems related to production problems and the safety of Boeing's passenger jets, according to NBC News
"President and CEO Dave Calhoun today announced his decision to step down as CEO at the end of 2024, and he will continue to lead Boeing through the year to complete the critical work underway to stabilize and position the company for the future," Boeing said in a statement.
The company's recent problems began in January when a door panel blew out on a Boeing 737 Max plane flown by Alaska Airlines.
The Justice Department is investigating that matter.
