Public approval of Supreme Court reaches highest level since January 2023: poll

Public opinion of the Supreme Court has surged to its highest level in more than year, according to a recent survey.

Overall, 47% of adults approved of the nation's top bench in a recent Marquette Law School survey. A further 53% disapproved of its performance. The figures were the highest since January 2023, when the same survey returned the same level of approval of the justices.

In February of this year, the court earned 40% approval and 60% disapproval. The court has not enjoyed at least 50% support since March of 2022.

Conducted March 18-28, the survey questioned 1,000 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of +/- 4%.

It further gauged public opinion on the court's recent and upcoming cases. Fifty-six percent of adults overall supported the court's decision to prevent states from banning former President Donald Trump from the ballot. A further 39% disapproved while 5% were undecided.

Sixty percent hope that the court will maintain existing access to the abortion drug mifepristone, while 25% hope the court will restrict access to it and 15% were undecided.
