Former first lady Melania Trump on Saturday slammed the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago in 2022, saying she never knew her privacy would be invaded that way.

"I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America," Melania said in a video on the social media platform, X. "

FBI agents in August of 2022 raided former President Donald Trump's Florida estate in search of classified materials the federal government says should have gone from the Trump White House to the National Archives.

Trump was indicted in 2023 for allegedly illegally retaining classified material and obstructing efforts to recover the documents, according to The Washington Times

The case was dismissed in July by Judge Aileen Cannon, but Special Counsel Jack Smith is working to get the case reinstated.

“The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings," the former first lady continued. "This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected.”

The video ended with an ad for Melania's new book that is expected to be released soon.

Melania announced earlier this month that she was releasing a memoir titled "Melania." The book is available for pre-order on her website.
