The Pentagon on Tuesday confirmed that roughly 140 U.S. service members had been wounded as part of the ongoing Iran war, including eight who had sustained life-threatening injuries.

“Since the start of Operation Epic Fury, approximately 140 U.S. service members have been wounded over 10 days of sustained attacks,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said, according to Politico. “The vast majority of these injuries have been minor, and 108 service members have already returned to duty.”

The Pentagon previously confirmed a total of seven dead as part of the operation.

The U.S. and Israel, earlier this month, launched joint strikes on Iran, kicking off the current conflict. Iran has retaliated by striking Israel and nearly all of its neighbors that host American bases.
