Not just gasoline: Rising costs from Iran conflict will impact food, plastics and electronics

The Strait of Hormuz is an artery through which oil, natural gas, petrochemicals and nitrogen fertilizers flow. Just about every consumer product will be more expensive with increased costs of diesel, gasoline, fertilizers, plastics and helium, all of which require oil products. How high prices go and what the impact will be on the economy will depend on how long the conflict continues, and its eventual outcome.

Dems demand climate chapter be returned to influential judicial science manual so it’s ‘impartial’

The Federal Judiciary Center removed the chapter after critics called out how it cited the research of climate activists who at the same time advocated for climate litigation against oil companies, presenting a serious windfall of attorney's fees. A coalition of Democrats say the decision came under political pressure, which undermines its neutrality. So they’re pressuring the FJC to add it back.

Federal judge upholds NYC congestion pricing

U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Liman issued a permanent injunction order barring the U.S. Department of Transportation from enforcing a directive to shut down the controversial tolling project, saying the federal agency exceeded its authority with the February ⁠2025 directive to terminate the program.
