Active shooter incident sees Baltimore police officer, suspect shot

The officer was hospitalized. The suspect's condition is unclear.

A Baltimore Police officer and a suspect were shot during an active shooter incident on Tuesday near a local Synagogue, authorities confirmed.

"BPD is on scene of an Active Shooter Incident in the 6200 block of Par[k] Heights Avenue. An officer has been shot & transported to Shock Trauma. A suspect was also shot. Avoid the surrounding areas. More information will be provided as it becomes available," the Baltimore Police Department posted.

The incident took place near the Agudath Israel of Baltimore synagogue, CBS News reported.
