U.S. Rep. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., said the federal government would have to double taxes in 20 years just to keep services at current levels if spending and debt aren't reined in.

"The match basically says my kids will be part of the first generation of America that will be poorer," he said. "That's the morality of this place."
