President Joe Biden with sit for a Fox Soul interview on Super Bowl Sunday after initially claiming that the network had canceled it.

Traditionally, the network carrying the Super Bowl does an interview with the president on the same day. Fox Soul is a live streaming service that curates its content toward a black audience. The game itself will be shown on Fox Sports.

"After the White House reached out to FOX Soul Thursday evening, there was some initial confusion... FOX Soul looks forward to interviewing the President for Super Bowl Sunday," a spokesperson for the network said, according to The Hill.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had tweeted on Friday morning that "The President was looking forward to an interview with Fox Soul to discuss the Super Bowl, the State of the Union, and critical issues impacting the everyday lives of Black Americans."

"We’ve been informed that Fox Corp has asked for the interview to be cancelled," she continued.

The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. EST during which the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will vie for the championship. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Thursday evening received the National Football League's MVP award, the second of his career.
