Sunday evening's Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers was the most-watched television event since the Moon Landing in 1969.

The game went into overtime and saw the Chiefs edge out the 49ers 25-22. The spectacle averaged 123.4 million viewers, CBS announced. The game ran on Paramount+ and CBS, with the latter accounting for 120.0 million viewers.

Between 125-150 million people watched the Apollo 11 moon landing, according to CNN.
