American military forces launched their next round of strikes Wednesday on Iranian military targets, marking the 12th consecutive day the United States has conducted strikes amid the conflict in the Middle East.

"At 5:30 p.m. ET today, U.S. forces began launching more strikes against Iranian military targets at the Commander in Chief's direction," the United States Central Command said on X, "The mission will continue to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting regional waters."

Fighting in the region resumed last week after negotiations failed to end the conflict, which was in a state of nominal ceasefire for months. In June, the countries signed a memorandum of understanding extending the ceasefire by 60 days.
