Travolta made the announcement in an Instagram post, saying Preston had died after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta said in the post. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.”

Preston’s film and TV acting career also included roles in the 1999 film “For the Love of the Game,” and “What a Girl Wants” in 2003. She starred next to such leading men as Tom Cruise and Kevin Costner, according to the Associated Press.
