Christian media mogul Stuart Epperson dies at 86
Salem confirmed Epperson's passing on Monday, but did not specify a cause of death.
Stuart Epperson, the co-founder of Salem Media Group, died Monday at the age of 86.
Epperson founded the company as Salem Communications in 1986, along with his brother-in-law, and went on to serve on the board of the National Religious Broadcasters Association. The company produces Christian and conservative content.
Salem confirmed Epperson's passing on Monday, but did not specify a cause of death, Businesswire reported.
"Stuart will be greatly missed by many. I will miss him, but I take comfort in realizing that he is already receiving his reward for a life well-lived," said Salem co-founder Ed Atsinger, his brother-in-law.
He further pointed to Epperson's life as embodying the spirit of 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. Now there Is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing," the passage reads.
